The beginning of December is another great time to come to Key West ( Like is there a Bad time? ). We jokingly refer to it as our second September. The weather is still perfect and the hotel rates have not gone up for the peak season. Plus the island is very quite most people are busy getting
ready for the holidays and do not travel. This all changes the day after Christmas right thru New Year.

They lower a pirate wench from the mast of the tall ship Liberty Clipper in the island city’s Historic Seaport.
You don’t want to miss the Schooner Wharf Bar’s original New Year's Eve tradition the "Lowering of Pirate Wench" from mast of the Schooner Liberty Clipper, accompanied with cannon blast.
