Homosassa Fishing Report 8/12/12
Monday, August 13, 2012 at 11:54 by Michael "SnookMook" Wilson
With the last month of real summer ahead of us, the heat has me in the water as much as I’m fishing on the surface of it. Most of my trips this month are spent half fishing and half scalloping.

Risky Business Team Wins $25K Top Prize at Drambuie Key West Marlin Tournament
by Andy Newman/Carol Shaughnessy
(Jul. 25, 2012 - KEY WEST, Florida Keys)... Danny Coll almost didn’t fish the Drambuie Key West Marlin Tournament that ended Saturday. He simply couldn’t find anyone to fish with him on his 35-foot Cabo Express sport-fishing boat dubbed Risky Business.

If at all possible do not forget to bring your own fishing gear. There are many places to fish from in and around Key West. If you drove all the way down here or just drove from Miami you could not help but notice all the bridges that connect Key West to the mainland. Many of them have areas you can fish from. The closest one to Key West that has a fishing path along the one side of the bridge connects Stock Island to Boca Chica Key. From there you can fish all day and or night lots of room for coolers and chairs. In Key West Florida  itself you will find lots of places you can cast your line from. Lots of people enjoy the fishing from the White Street Pier, the end of Simonton St. I see lots of people fishing at night for shark in the Key West Harbor and at Mallory Square when the sunset celebration is not going on. Florida fishing law has changed and you do need a Florida Fishing license to fish from shore. They are easy to get from any bait and tackle shop. I send everyone to the one at the end of Margaret Street next to the Half Shell Raw Bar and Turtle Kraals. Lots of other places sell bait too. Walgreen's and Kmart on North Roosevelt sell it with Walgreen's being open 24 hours for all you night fishing needs.

Fishing Tournaments in Key West and the Florida Keys
Ran across some fishing jokes so I am posting some.

Why Fishing Is Better Than Sex

1 You don't have to hide your Fishing magazines.

2 It's perfectly acceptable to pay a professional to Fish with you once in a while.

3 The Ten Commandments don't say anything about Fishing.

4 If your partner takes pictures or videotapes of you Fishing in your Whaler, you don't have to worry about them showing up on the Internet if you become famous.

5 Your Fishing partner doesn't get upset about people you fished with long ago.

6 It's perfectly respectable to Fish with a total stranger.

7 When you see a really good Fisher-person, you don't have feel guilty about imagining the two of you Fishing in a Whaler together.

8 If our regular Fishing partner isn't available, he/she won't object if you Fish with someone else.

9 Nobody will ever tell you that you will go blind if you Fish by yourself.

10 When dealing with a Fishing pro, you never have to wonder if they are really an undercover cop.

11 You an have a Fishing calendar on your wall at the office, tell Fishing jokes, and invite coworkers to Fish with you without getting sued for harassment.

12 There are no Fishing-transmitted diseases.

13 If you want to watch Fishing on television, you don't have to subscribe to the Playboy channel.

14 Nobody expects you to Fish with the same partner for the rest of your life.

15 Nobody expects you to give up Fishing if your partner loses interest in it.

16 Your Fishing partner will never say, "Not again? We just Fished last week! Is Fishing all you ever think about?"
