The Christ of the Deep Statue is 9' tall and cast bronze. It was
sculpted by Egad Cress in Italy and donated to the Underwater
Society of America. The statue is a duplicate of the Christ of
the Abysses statue that rest in 50' of water off Genoa Italy. The
Christ Statue is one of the most photographed sites in the world.
This is an easy dive the statue sits on a sandy bottom in 25' of
water. The diver can explore in either direction along the reef
following the sand cannels that run out from the center. A word
of caution on this dive diver should note the current and plan the
dive accordingly. With the heavy boat traffic in the area you want
to surface near some corral that reaches close to the surface near
your boat.
