The leaves from the coconut tree produce a distinctive weave.
Each leaf has a midrib which acts as a slender wire keeping the
woven objects firm yet flexible. Strong fibers within the leaves
and their natural oil ensure that your piece of Art will last many
years. As the water evaporates from the Freshly woven Green
piece the color changes rapidly. Out of the sunlight they fade
to a pale green. In direct sunlight they first turn dark brown.
Then either way they lighten to a sandy tan. As the oil remains
in the dry leaves they become a wall paper texture staying
supple and durable for years. Little special care needed. Just
wash with soapy water and let air dry.
