Key West Scuba Diving Chet Alexander Wreck

Chet Alexander's Wreck
Diver Skill Level    Novice thru Advanced
               Depth     0 to 30 Feet
           Current      Moderate to Strong

The Chet Alexander's Wreck is a Destroyer Escort purchased from the
Navy, and sunk by Chet Alexander. It lies in 25 - 30 feet of water 5
miles west of #4 buoy. She is Broken in half with her stern about 150 yards
north of the bow. Even with part of the hull sticking above the water
care must be taken not run into it. Like so many have in the past. The wreck
lies on its side providing a home for thousands of fish. The visibility is not
as good on the gulf side of the keys, but it runs about 25 - 40 feet. Be aware
of the current it can be quite strong at times, but in general its not bad. A very
good Key West Scuba Diving site
