Islamorada Fishing in the Florida Keys Captain Butch Green born in Pensacola, Florida to a strong fishing oriented family, moved to Islamorada when he was just a boy. He has been fishing the waters off the Florida Keys for about 30 years. He learned the ropes while fishing with his Dad, Captain Ray Green and has extensive knowledge of the local marine environment. Capt. Green has fished throughout the Bahamas, the Gulf of Mexico, Cozumel and Cuba. He also spent four years sportfishing in the Red Sea for Prince Khaled Bin Sultan Bin Abdulaziz of Saudi, Arabia. Capt. Green has a fine record in tournament fishing. He placed second in the Hemingway Blue Marlin Tournament in 1978, won the Walker's Cay Billfish Tournament in 1984 and more recently, took first place in the 1997 Key Largo Sailfish Open and the 1998 Bartender's Sailfish Tournament in Islamorada. Capt Green has had some amazing catches aboard the Sassy Lady, including a 422 lb Great White shark caught on 50lb test line, dolphin up to 54 lbs, Grouper, Wahoo, Cobia, Kingfish, Tuna and Sailfish.
